NCYC Participant's Prayer Service
photo
The participants of the National Catholic Youth Conference in Ohio this November and their parents held a Prayer Service in preparation for the trip. Parents and their children prayed, shared and talked about their expectations for the upcoming event. Gina Marie, our youth minister presided the service in the presence of our pastor, Fr. Mike. The night was filled with music as Deacon Melvin played the guitar and the kids singing their heart out with songs of praise and worship.

Catholic Underground

Catholic Underground- The members of Branches youth and young adult ministry went to NYC to attend the Catholic Underground on Saturday, October 6, 2007. The Catholic Underground is organized by the Franciscan Friars of Renewal and it composed of Holy Hour and Concert afterwards in the basement of the Church. The group had a great time praying, singing and listening to the featured artist---THE CELTIC SPRING. We started the night with the evening prayer and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. The music was very inspiring and it was really a place of prayer. After the Benediction, we proceeded to the basement and enjoyed the music of the Catholic Underground Band (this band is composed of 8 bearded friars who rocked the house down with their music.) The featured artist was the Celtic Spring. This is a family band. The mother played the keyboard, the father in the drums and the 6 kids played violin and guitar. This family is so talented that even the 7 year old kid did his Irish dancing. I was so impressed with this family. We will definitely go back there next month for another Catholic Underground Night Out!!!

YOU ROCK!!!

Living Rosary
Thursday- October 4, 2007. The Holy Rosary Society sponsored a  living  Rosary in the Church. Many people came to take part of this devotion in honor of our Blessed Mother Mary. Since, October is the month of the Rosary, the Rosarians (Holy Rosary Society) organized the living Rosary and they dedicated it to the late Josephone Miroddi who started this activity. Deacon Melvin sang the traditional prayer/song to Mary, the AVE MARIA.
